Are Dodo Birds Still Alive? Real Truth

By Akash

Yes, the dodo bird no longer exists. People last saw a dodo in 1662, and experts believe it disappeared completely by 1700.

Several factors led to the dodo's extinction, including hunting by humans, the introduction of predators to its habitat, and the destruction of its home.

The dodo was a bird that couldn't fly and lived on an island called Mauritius in the Indian Ocean.

It was similar in size to a turkey and had a big head, a thick beak, and small wings.

The dodo ate plants like fruits, seeds, and nuts. Because it moved very slowly, humans and other predators found it easy to catch.

When people arrived in Mauritius, they started hunting the dodo for food.

Additionally, humans brought predators like dogs, cats, and rats to the island, which posed a threat to the dodo.

Because of these reasons, the number of dodos decreased rapidly. The last confirmed sighting of a dodo was in 1662, and it is believed that the bird went extinct by 1700.
